I will give him a call in the near future. I would think that worn bosses in
the front or a loose nut in the back would be synonomous....no? At any
rate....the tranny looked too good. Shifted fine...no metal in the
oil...perfectly clean in fact.
Funny thing that still gets me...as I have mentioned...is how the tranny
seemed to work/shift fine with the exception of 1st gear. What also is weird
is that the tranny worked well for 200 miles after the first inspection.
Maybe the speedo ball fell back into the hole for that time?? Who knows. I
suspect I will be able to happily say that the problem has been fixed when I
pass the 1000 mile mark :-)

The gears looked fine, except the bosses on the front.. They were shot, therefore the tranny was toast!
