Hi Jason,
EMGO sells mounts that allow you to use screw-in mirrors. Your local
dealer can probably order them for you. But, I ordered a pair of
universal brake and clutch lever assemblies (part nos. AGE023270U and
AGE023271B) from JC Whitney for $7 each that have the mirror mount then
cut off the lever bracket part. A half hour each with a file, then emory
cloth, then the buffing wheel and you almost can't tell they were
altered. Plus you have a lever that could be made to work on a Loop and
extra hardware.
Another thing I've seen done (and will probably do on "Freebie") is to
use Harley style mirrors that bolt through the lever bracket. On the
brake side, the hole for the choke lever is used (individual chokes
instead) and on the clutch side an identical hole can be drilled
(there's already a hole on the underside).
Crashbars are 7/8" if I remember correctly. I may mount a pair of
Kawasaki KZ1000 running lights/turnsignals on "Freebie's" crashbars but
never thought of mounting mirrors there! Cheers,
Charlie

I am currently using inexpensive universal clamp on mirrors because I do not have any place to mount mirrors on my 70 ambo. After looking through some guzzi pictures on-line it looks like alot of bikes have screw mounted mirrors. How is this possible what parts would I need? Also I have thought about clamping mirrors on my crash bars for a little different look. Has anyone done this? What is the diameter of the crash bars? |
