Hey John,
Last summer I put an odyssey in the Ambo. I liked the fact that it could be
mounted any way, upsidedown if necessary (no worries of leaking if you
crash!:-)). The fact that I got the thing, brand new for $50 from a pals
shop didn't hurt either.
I'm not sure if it's a 925, but I did have to set it on it's side. It was
tall enough but wasn't wide enough. I run the stock battery setup. Necessity
is the mother of invention so I had to find something that would fit the in
the bottom side of the top tray and the top of the battery to help clamp the
thing down. In my wanderings through the house I found a ping pong paddle.
Yup, you all heard me. It was actually perfect. It has the knobby, rubber
for grip and can be cut down to the appropriate size. It also helps to keep
the + side from contacting the upper tray.
The batteries aren't cheap, but it sure cranks the bike. One of the many
reasons (the battery, not the ping pong paddle) about that bike I'm fighting
the ins. co. so hard.

Subject: Battery Options ???
After reading the archives, I went out today to find a group 55 vented
battery with enough power to spin a loop motor fast enough to make it
dizzy!
Vented caps are a thing of the past and soon Group 55 batteries!!!
Wally World (Walmart) still show them, but non-vented. Sears has
discontinued them. Most auto chains are out but their's are also
non-vented.
Looking at an Odyssey...sealed/long life/no acid. They have a 925
series with lots of CCAs and a 680 with lower numbers. The 925 on it's
side will fit in.
Any feedback on what's worked for you??? I looked at
tractor/lawn/motorcycle juice boxes but the CCAs are a lot less. For
a few dollars more the Odyssey seems like the way to go.
Thanks,
JU
