What Harry said...the connie is definitely a niche bike. I am not as
fond of them, but some people love 'em.
Also-
It's missing a front brake caliper, which will cost a little bit, and
probably needs new disks, or at least have those turned since they're so
dang rusty.
It has an 'electrical gremlin' which could mean anything from a busted
ground wire to a burned out diode board. Ground wires are cheap, diode
boards aren't. Who knows what other happy, instructive and creative
modifications are lurking in there...
If you're not comfortable breaking down a bike or working on the side of
the road, I'd start out with something in a little better shape. One of
my first bikes was a Honda 350- Lawd, what a POS. After three painful
years and two parts bikes, I was a pretty good roadside mechanic, and
understood motorcycle electrical systems.
In a lot of cases, you get what you pay for, and the difference between
an $800 Guzzi and a $3000 Guzzi (like a decent 850T or loopframe) is
huge. How much money are you willing to put into this bike after the
sale? Would it be worth it, or would it be cheaper in the long run to
spend more up front, and less later? Mike has a couple on his website
for cheap money. Heck, even I have one for sale there (grin). If you
don't want a project bike, I would recommend looking elsewhere. And if
you want a Loop- get a Loop- why wait? They're cheap, they're available
and there's no advantage (other than way better brakes) to learning on a
Tonti, just to work on a Loop later on. Just my opinion....

cheers,
Jason
