Kevin,
Good to meet you at Mid Ohio and glad to hear you made a nice recovery so

Hey all, Yup, yup, yup. Ah crap where to start? I know, let me say that
regardless of finishing up my weekend in the hospital, which by the way,
the Mansfield Hospital has THE nicest staff, A 180 from Detroit!, I had
a blast. It was a real pleasure meeting more folks on this list and
seeing old friends at Midohio.
Mike, real cool finally meeting you, thanks for the shirt, It became my
recovery/lounge around the house wear for days on end!
Paul K., always great to see you. Next year-I'll promise I won't crash
before we get to the bar, Thanks for you help out there, email me.
Darrell, maybe I should've borrowed your scooter to get me back! Nice
classic ride Bro:-}
It was cool meeting Roberto, and of course the legend himself Gordon and
of course his wife(?). I hope you guys got back to wisc. OK. Crazy folk
out thar in Wisc. Loops on ice? Yeah, I'll be talking to you real soon.
It was great seeing everyone else. Charlie, Fred(thanks for the
brainwaves)and everyone else I might be an asshole for not mentioning.
Sam, glad you didn't go?
Anyways, I'm alive and well, I have no friggin' idea what happened. I
remember leaving the track, making sure that Paul and Kevin were in tow
and then waking up in the hospital. That's it. Something could've ran
across the road, there could've been a car or it could've been all me.
No idea. I guess we were all spaced out pretty good so Paul and Kev
didn't see anything. Guess I did give them a pretty good scare, along
with the pals already at the hotel.
No broken bones, and I am a fast healer, If you were to see me today you
wouldn't guess I wreck'd.
Pissed I missed my Lap for History and a trip down to the museum but it
will all be there next year.
The bike faired ok I think. I will be going to a friends shop today to
help with the insurance estimate. I do want to be up for the MI Guzzi
rally in Sept. From a quick goings over the bike it looks as though it
will need a frt. end and sheet metal. Basically everything that costs a
chunk o' change I managed to wreck with the exception of the tool boxes
that still use the original key.
I'll start the thing tonight and check the engine, but I expect it to
check out.
Since my weekend got cut short I didn't get to see and do everything I
wanted, but I did come back to the bike at one point to find that
someone stuck a flier/invite to a vintage bike show in Daytona on the
bike. My pal Kev also got one. Something called Concourse de
Elegance(SP?). Made me very proud that they said a spot was reserved for
the bikes. Now I start to wonder if someone there was trying to
eliminate the competition???
With that said I do plan on putting the bike back to where it was, if
not better and I'll be seeing all the Detroit crew around soon enough.

Later,
Kev
