A motoring generator usually is caused by a stuck contact in the regulator
and will run a battery dead real quick, try cleaning the regulator contacts
or replace it. If it happens when the belt is on you may not get any
indication until you go to start it next. On some generator equipped cars
the generator light will stay on with the key off, don't know about the
Guzzi.

Loopmasters, I'm working on wiring up the Eldo I'm restoring. All the connections |
to be OK & match the wiring diagram, but the first time I turned the key |
the generator took off running as a motor. I don't have the belt on yet, & the thing isn't making a lot of torque (I can stop it w/my hand), but, is this normal? Is the generator going to need polarized? Advice needed! Thanks, Ron Komoroski |
