Maybe I'm just an idiot or a slow learner or just lazy, but today I discovered something{not really was in Guzziology} but it made my day. While doing a valve adjustment on the Eldo I read something fascinating. Quote follows "At this point, locate TDC accurately by checking the timing marks. On loop frame big twins they are on the generator belt pulley. The one to the left {when looking at the front of the engine from the front of the bike} is TDC for the left{when viewed from the saddle} cylinder. There is no TDC mark for the right cylinder so you |
to approximate it with a screw driver " KABOOM!!!! I just then realized I had been setting the right cylinder valves wrong for about |
years and had just accepted the overly noisy valves on the right as |
nature of the beast!! Whadda dumbass anyhow finished the valve adjustment ,new points, timing and carb sync. Runs like a madman now . Just thought I'd let everyone know.
