had a great time at the NM rally. got some great tips and meet a bunch of
great people there. BUT this trip is going to be expensive. after owning her
for 22 years and countless trips it never left me stranded but on the way
down to the rally my exhaust nut came out, worse then that it was wired as
not to turn and unscrew. I stuffed it back into the head and applyed liberal
amount of permatex to what was left to the treads to hold it in. Well the
ol' ambo once again got me home but she would like to be fixed before I go
any farther. riding some 350 miles with a lot of blow by at the header pipe
I'm going to do a compresson and leak down test to see how much damage it
did but I assume I'm going to need new heads. some one at the rally
recommended moto international for welding alum into the hole then tap some
new treads in it for me. has anyone tryed this? other wise i'm looking for
two new heads, the other one is rattleing too so it's not far behind.
