Hi Fred,
Yeah, I came through there on my way north after the "Guzzis in the Blue Ridge" Rally last year - pretty dark and grim (even more so than when I came through in '85). But, nobody holds a rally there! With so many other more interesting and scenic areas in the state, it always puzzled me why that site was chosen (other than for Buck's convenience and the fire dept. tie-in).
The BMW dudes hold their rally at the Boyers Station Motel & Campground (near Cass, WV) as I found out when I stayed there on Memorial Day last year. Beautiful area, lots of interesting things to see and do and some of the best roads in the state. Great place for a rally!
Hope to see Fallingwater on my way back from the WNY Rally this year. Later,
Charlie

Hey, it's more scenic than say, War, WV (look on the map). We'll be there sometime Friday afternoon, guzzi-less. We're taking the scenic route back, heading into SW PA to check out the restored Fallingwater and another FLW house nearby, and then down 219 through Elkins and Marlinton. |
