Hey All,
I am getting around to reinstalling my rear end after replacing the rear
tranny seal and push rod orings and I was wondering about the lubrication
needed for the drive shaft where it goes into the bevel drive box.
Where the swing arm bolts to the rear drive unit....there is a splined shaft
(that the drive shaft connects to) and a bearing that sits at the entrance
to the drive box. My thinking is that I need to grease the splines but what
about that bearing? Looks like there is gear oil that lubricates it but I am
not sure about that. Do I need to pack that bearing with grease?
I'm also a little concerned about grease and gear oil mixing. Do I need to
be?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated....Ian
