Subject: wheel bearing spacers

Hi, all. I have discovered why my front bearings overheat when I torque
them to the specified 108 ft/lbs: I am missing the two internal shims.
Can anyone tell me if these are supposed to have an inside diameter
large enough to fit over the small end of the spacers that the bearings
ride on? Are they just washers - can I get them at a hardware store?
