Hi All,
I am in the process of replacing the clutch in the '74 Eldo due to a
bad leak in the front seal of the transmission. I ordered new seals for both
ends since the trans is out anyway. Now for question # 1. Both seals that I
received are the same size, 35 x 47 x 7, one is black and has a single lip
and carries the part # SOG 100551. The other is brown and has a double lip
with raised arcs that don't appear directional between the lips. This is a
CORTECO I2 CFW BAVISLDRW. Can anyone tell me which one goes on the input
shaft and which goes on the output?
Question # 2. Does the output shaft nut have to come off to replace
the rear seal? If it must come off it appears that it requires special tools
and must be replaced.
Question # 3. Which way do the cone shaped seals go on the clutch
push rod and is three the correct amount.
Sorry for being a PITA, Thanks in Advance.
