Did not see Pat's remarks, I guess it was negative. Anyway, was looking at
a general motorcycle tune up book today and read that the compression gauge
should just be held there until it didn't go any higher, contrary to what
the mechanice told me. I guess I'll go back out, after the snow stops and
check again. Bob

 I think everyone would agree with what Pat wrote about
that mechanic and compression testing(!). About the
carb top gasket, I ran my Ambo for years without them,
I added them this year but have not niticed any
difference.

Greg, I have some used conrod bolts, but I think they
are only for AMbos - Eldos have different ones, I
think. You can have some of them if you like, but it
would be better to get new ones, probably. Franz told
me that it is not worth putting the used ones back in
- they undergo a terrific amount of stress. I
recommend checking with MI or MG Cycle and see if they
can provide you with new ones.
