Keith, perhaps the fuel is not flowing while the bike
is not running becuase of the needle shut-off valve
doing it's job, preventing the carb bowl from
over-filling? If it doesn't flow whith the engine
running, I too would think that it may be clogged
petcock filters. I had this problem on my '61 Simson
and it was a clogged petcock.
Bob, your compression figures sound LOW to me! With
new piston kits but very old heads I has over 135 lbs
in each cylinder, as I recall. Anyone else out there
know what the range of tolerence is for Ambo
compression?
