Gavin, check first that engine and frame numbers match as engine may have
been swapped out. Bob

Subject: V700 detail questions
Hiya people, I am looking at buying a Guzzi that I have been told is a V7 700. But it is registered as a "V7 Special" year on the papers is 1969. I have some questions to tax the Guzzi brain! The first production V7 '67 does not appear to have any webing on the crankcase running on the left hand side from the barrel base towards the starter. Yet one from 1969 V7 seems to have that web. Anyone know hat was used in 68? Also does anyone know how to tell the year from the engine or chassis number? He could not see the number in the dark tonight! So I don't know what it is. One book tells me then numbers should be between "VS 00 AA" and "VS 99 SS". Is the book right? Kind regards Gavin |
