Did the set-up of 7/33's into an Ambo case.
Mega thanks to John Althaus for assistance/guidance and a few home made
tools for which he has not used for a few years since his hot rodding
days of loop frames.

A missing tooth contributed to the metallic glow of the oil which
started the exploration into "pandora's box". 7/33's are apparently
made better than the old 8/37/35's (according to Guzzilogy) The crown
ring is larger in diameter which makes one gasp, wondering if it will
even fit in the box at first glance!!!

Using poster paint and Peter Ropers feature in Guzzi tech, it went
smoothly after eyeballing down the filler hole with a light and seeing
that the pinion needed to be extended further. We hit the heel and toe
right on the marks and then set the shim for crown gear depth.

You could tell by the feel/resistance when turning the shaft if you were
getting close. The first few trys were not too inspiring but after the
fore mentioned eyeballing through the filler hole, we were then on the
right track.

The final shim thichness count is a .8mm crown gear shim, and 2 bevel
shims 2.7mm total. Your's will be different of course!!
Nothing is that easy.

Later,
JU
