I had a hard time finding the corprene (cork impregnated with
neoprene), finally buying a gas cap from a tractor supply place that had
a big enough piece of corprene in it to cut a couple of petcock gaskets
out of. As Bruce says, Viton works, although I haven't tried it
personally. I've had limited success with some thick gasket material
from NAPA, although it's difficult to punch the two little holes in it
near the edge without cracking. The same goes for plain cork gasket
material.
Take your gasket in hand when looking for the stuff. If you choose
to experiment with another material, make sure it isn't adversely
affected by gas by soaking it for a couple of days.

I use Viton which can be obtained at places that deal in rubber goods (I got mine from Potomac Rubber here in the DC area). You only need a small sheet for the stuff is expensive. Comes in different thickness that should match your Ambo petcock gaskets. A bit thicker is better than thinner. Bruce David Guilfoyle wrote:
