Even though this weekend was one of the most beautiful in a while, I
stayed home and wrenched and painted.
I too the old cluth plated out and tossed them. They had lots of oil on
them. Don't know where it came from though. As I was checking the two
clutch plates I was gonna put in, I found that one of them was NFG. The
rivets had loosened and expanded the holes they ride in. Into the trash
can with it..
Now what to do???? I had a spare motor, so I went over and pulled the
cluth out of it. It had the Sureflex bronze racing type clutch plates in
it! Weird looking! Well, I decided NOT to use them. Instead, I took out
out my brandy-new set that I was saving for another Eldo and used them.
So now the clutch is in, and I noticed that two of the canals for the
oilpan bolts were disintigrated. So I swapped oil pans, too. Man!, was
the inside of that motor clean!
More later...
