Thanks Charlie,

My bearing supplier sent me bearing part # 5205 from Bearings Limited. This
looks the same but is sealed. I had the parts department punch out the metal
seals and I will give it a test to make sure the tranny fluid gets through.
Yes this is the bearing that is covered by the retainer in the rear cover. I
gave the bearing supplier the part number you have listed below. There was
no number on the bearing itself that I could find so I gave him the number
in the parts catalog. What can you tell me about installation. Do I heat the
case, freeze the bearing, use green loctite etc....Any help will be
appreciated.

Thanks, Ed

Hi Ed,
If you have the bearing out and the number is legible, it may be possible
to get it from a local bearing dealer. If not available locally, try
Emerson Bearing
http://www.emersonbearing.com/in Boston, MA. I bought all of the bearings
for my rear drive from them for what the dealer list price is on the large
ball-bearing only. Also, check with Agostini,
http://www.agostiniduilio.com- the Euro is gaining strength against the
dollar, but there's still savings to be had.

Do you mean #13 on Plate 8 in the Eldo parts manual? Has a semi-circular
retainer that bolts to the rear cover? Likely the RIV part number will be
of little use to a bearing dealer, but the dimensions may. It's listed as
a RIV 3205, 25x52x20.8 (mm). Guzzi part no. 9221 8424

There's a slim chance I may have a good NOS one in my stash, I'll check it
out and let you know. Cheers,

Charlie

the clip is shot. I believe this is the output shaft bearing. I have
found
a generic replacement that is a sealed bearing but since the speedo drive
gear on the other side needs lubrication, will I be cutting off the
supply
with a sealed bearing? I do see 2 little cut-outs in the housing wall
that

also
know of a generic replacement. My replacement is $ 20.00 as compared to
the
$50 to $60 that I am seeing elsewhere.

Thanks in advance for all replys.
