The old adage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" was never truer.
Actually I didn't even try fixing them (the forks), I just changed the
fork oil.
Very simple procedure, or so I thought. Drained the old fluid out
(volume seemed about right), put the new in (30wt fork oil, 160 cc--the
manual says using ATF or fork oil). Didn't mess with any of the seals
in any way (I did compress the forks of course).
The result? Not just weeping, crying real drops. Must have dislodged
something.
Do any of you have any advice or even better a write-up for the fork
seal replacement? I read the sections in Guzziology and the Premier
manual and the procedure doesn't look at all pretty. (I'm getting the
tools for the fork work made by Stephen B.)
