I must be one of the lucky ones - little of this has applied to any of my Italian vehicles. The Bertone X 1/9 I bought new in '85 was trouble free for the duration of my ownership (three years and 86k miles) once a defective camshaft was replaced (at 17k) and continued to be reliable for the second owner (until he totalled it @ 126k miles). Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc. are a whole different breed though from what I gather.
Don't see how any of the six apply to Loops, at least the Ambos anyway.
1) Most components are overbuilt in my experience, with the possible exception of u-joints.
2) All of the components continue to work even after 33 yrs. or if they don't can usually be repaired easily or replaced with more common parts.
3) The electrical system is actually quite simple and reliable if the connections/contacts are clean, tight and protected.
4) The longer/farther a Loop is ridden the more endearing it becomes because of it's simple, logical, robust design and construction. It also has been the cheapest to keep of any of the 40+ vehicles I've had.
5) Parts availability isn't really a problem once you get tapped into the sources. That's where this list is such a great help! I'm constantly amazed at how much is still available for these great old bikes, the youngest of which is still nearly 30 yrs. old.
6) The Premier manual isn't too bad as manuals go, Haynes and the others so-so. Guzziology is a great help, at least to me. There's a lot of info. on how to keep/make a Loop faster/stronger/more reliable/able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. :-)
Just my $.02 worth, your mileage may vary! Cheers,
Charlie

Hey Loopers Here's some info a friend sent to me that I found (painfully) accurate and most familiar! It is from a Lamborgini list but applies to Loops as well. Hunter
