Hi Ian,
Once you make up your list, send me a copy - I've probably got a lot of it. With two more Ambos arriving soon, the need I previously felt to make more complete bikes out of my parts stash has diminished some. I'd still like to build an Eldo as I don't have one of those yet.
I didn't get a chance to stop by the machine shop today. My poor old Audi's alternator finally had enough and stopped working, so I was chasing down a new one. It set me back $200 - there goes more of the funding for my '71's restoration! Oh well, the Audi has 292,000 miles on it, I guess it can't last forever. We're expecting a "major winter storm" here this weekend, so I guess a trip to Staples is out of the picture. I should have plenty of time to go down to my "polishing room" in the basement and finish a few more parts though! See ya', Charlie

Hi Charlie, I received your first shipment of Eldo engine "guts" yesterday...thanks so much. You did such a great job of cleaning everything up. I can hardly wait for the crank to arrive and to finally begin assembly of the motor. As far as the frame....I am still looking for a local powdercoater. Ed said that he has a good one down more towards Atlanta. I may have to go with him since there doesn't seem to be one in the area. I'll be needing lots of parts for this bike. The PO basically let everything rust in the bin. I'll make up a list and see if I can find this stuff out in Loopland. Thanks again...Ian |
