John,
I'll do a little research on this.

We met halfway in Knoxville, I rode my '68 Shovelhead down, met her at the airport and we toured the Smokies for a couple of weeks. When I got there I asked one of the locals where a fun place to go would be; he said 'Pigeon Forge', so we headed there to check it out. It turned out to be pretty hokey, with the world's largest waterslide, the world's biggest pancakes, the world's most screaming kids, etc. This was over 15 years ago, and I suspect it's gotten hokier. With the advent of Dollyland, I'm sure the pancakes are bigger. The upshot of all this is that after getting out of there, we came across a great little campground with cabins called Toestring Lodge somewhere on a lake in Tennessee, Spring City I think, run by a Waldo and Mary Boyce. It was so nice that we stayed a few days, fished, watched the locals whittle sticks around the town square, and went back on our honeymoon a couple of years later. I always wondered if it was still there. At any rate, the entire area provides great riding. John Prusnek
