Subject: John Prusnek, re decals
Jason: I don't make the decals myself, but one of my suppliers does and I get a good price on them (I'm in the promotional products business). I don't know what graphics you're referring to, but making up one or two sets of decals can be somewhat costly because of the initial setup costs involved, maybe $40-$50 depending on the graphics. And you'd better have some nice crisp camera ready art ready or else pay an artist to make it that way. If you're talking about what was used on the Airone, Gambalunga or Astore, they're basically the same as the ones I do without the drop shadow style lettering, a slightly different eagle, and they're gold and black. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone to actually notice the difference, and harder pressed to find anyone else that would want them, since you don't see many of those bikes around in the US. The reason I got involved in it was that I wasn't able to find the correct tank decals for my own restorations and had a small run made to sell and recoup the cost of the setup. That was 5 years ago and I find that I've had to continue offering them as a public service, since to this day nobody else that I've discovered makes the correct ones for loopframes. Then Mike Skaggs on the forum here wanted some red Eldo sidecover decals, and we got enough forum guys together to make it worthwhile to do a run. I offer these also, but they aren't flying out of the door, and they're available elsewhere. So, my suggestion is to see a doctor about that wild hair that you have... John Prusnek
