I don't know the answer to your question, but I won't let that stop me
from offering advice :)
Did you compare them using a micrometer? The website at
http://www.startwin.com/downloads/dellorto/dellorto_3_6.htmshows the
key dimensions. There is some info at
http://www.racecar.co.uk/dellorto/(scroll down to find VHB) that
suggests there are 14 needle variations (V1 - V14) between 27mm and 30mm
so variations may be small. Both of those websites have some good carb
info, but I haven't had a chance to read it all yet.
