Joe,
Is it the cross shaft that the foot control is on? Mine had problems with
that that I solved with bushings. I also had a problem with the pins in the
linkage as well as the holes they fit in. They were worn out and this
caused a big increase in lever movement as they are on the short end of the
stick so to speak. I replaced the pin and link setup with ball and socket
joints from a later bike such as a Cal II. All you need are the ball joints
themselves. They thread onto the stock rod.
