Went for a cruise with Cam today, not too bad when the sun was out,
about 40-42 degrees, thank god for that windscreen! Bike ran nice. I
adjusted out the idle drop problem when the clutch is pulled in by
adjusting the cable, and if Dave Otis is reading this, yes it does also
happen in nuetral. I did observe something though, if you listen
closely when the clutch is pulled, you can hear a nice metallic grinding
type of noise, so I guess the clutch rod is grinding on something??
Clutch cable is adjusted so that there is only a slight drop in idle,
and I re-adusted the carbs after the ride (mixture was off a bit) and
bumped up the idle a bit to also counter act this idle drop problem.
Will live with the problem (which is adjusted out) until that grinding
noise causes something major.

Also noticed that the spacers that were added to the fork springs to
provide pre-load are over-doing there job. Over some large bumps, I am
rebounding to the upper stop point on the forks, a nice "bang" signifies
this that rattles the tank a bit. Hopefully the springs will wear in a
bit and she will gradually get better.

Lastly, I guess Patience will never be leak free as that new trans cover
gasket by the return spring is still leaking and there is still oil
weeping out between the engine/tranny case. Overall, I think she is
good to go, and I will just have to give in to her personalities (leaks,
idle drops, fork rebound). Hope the weather will warm up a bit so Cam
and I can go for another cruise soon.

Happy New Year All!
