Wasn't there something about the cases cracking? I think it was a certain
series of VIN's or something.

If you plan on keeping the bike for a long time, I would go with the gears.
I put a set on my cafe racer and it made a big difference in the
acceleration and throttle response. I set the timing with a degree wheel
so it is dead on and with the gears you will not get the variance between
the cam and crank timing you can get with worn chains. My old chain was
stretched out and the gears were worn more than I liked. The bike had
70,000 miles on it. The gear set up was cheaper the a new gear-chain set.

Anyone have any long term experience with the Valtek? I have to take my SP
apart to take care of what I think is a gear box bearing problem. While I
have the motor out, I thought I would take a look at the Valtek I put in
35,000 miles ago. I will let everyone know what I find.
