sounds like you need custom made copper gaskets. expensive, but i guess you
could re-use them.

Subject: 850 Eldo Big Bored Head Gaskets?
Well I'm at this dilema again... advancing age doesn't help me remember how I got around this last time so I'm here asking for guidence. Doing a frame up on the '74 LAPD Eldo. It has a 1K (949CC?) big bore kit in it. I put that in in the 80's and don't remember which kit it is. Today's problem is with the head gaskets. The big bore cyl's are 850's with steel liners (no Nickie Sealski). 850 gaskets don't fit the cyl diameter. 1000 gaskets fit the diameter and the stud holes and the oil drain hole but the push rod holes are off (too high on the gaskets). I've used the 1000 gaskets before and the push rods rub on them. This wears the rods. Also, the tinned part of the gasket for the rod holes are off and a small part of the rod hole of the head isn't sealed well (leaky). and now the question... HELP... What is everyone else doing with their big bore's? I now have two sets of new head gaskets (850 Eldo and 18022050 for 1000's). I'm becomming something of a collector.
