Andy and all,
The "1st Annual Maine MGNOC Rally" was fantastic. I had hoped
someone would write-up a rally report and post it as I am not really good it
that sort of thing. I am guessing there were over two dozen bikes there and
a larger group of very nice Guzzi Riders. I wish I had written down the
names of everyone I met because my memory for names is terrible. But I
remember the faces and personalities and look forward to seeing them again.
The poker run was well laid out and a great ride even if it was in the cage,
I had my wife and daughter with me and the Eldo's clutch was still not
fixed. The best of the rally, though, was the bonfires on Friday and
Saturday nights. They were a great opportunity to get aquatinted with each
other and we did.
The campground was excellent as well as the weather. Darryl, the
camp ground owner, and his crew made our stay outstanding and he is great on
the barbecue. Morning Coffee was really good, too. Andy, there was at least
one Don there but I can't for the life of me remember were he or they were
from, sorry. John S. was there in excellent form. There were a few people
there that had attended the NYNA Rally some of which I met there. Russ was
there from Mass but he came on his EV so that meant I had the only "Loop"
there even though both of his are nicer than mine. One gentleman from
Elsworth on a "T" that I met at the Owls Head Antique Motorcycle Gathering,
Super clean "T" by the way, very nice. There were also quite a contingent of
very nice folks from Canada. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures this trip,
maybe next time.
Some of the names I remember, The Fixer, The driller, Russ, Don, and
John. Several other names and nicknames were bandied about over the weekend.
I am not sure but I may have picked up "Eldo" as a moniker. One younger
gentleman, I wish I could remember his name took it upon himself to have
some T-shirts made up on speculation. Excellent design and color choice, one
of the nicest shirts I seen in a long time. Unfortunately they sold out very
fast and he could have sold more. There was some discussion about having few
more printed but I have heard nothing yet. He had the misfortune of finding
fabric on his rear tire showing on Saturday and wound up spending most of
the evening and the next morning trying to get a new tire installed.
This was a top notch rally and I have offered to help next year and
will definitely plan to attend. Thanks to all who made it a success!
As for the clutch, I am making it a winter project, as it seems fine
if I ride solo and/or baby it, so I don't want to tear it apart while there
is still some warm weather left. I went out solo today for about three hours
and it only slipped once on long upgrade. Very nice ride.
I do have a lot of pictures from the NYNA Rally and from the Owls
Head Show, I will try to post some soon. As many as my server will allow.
Thats all for now!

My brother just |
up a '74 4LS Eldo with a set of Round Top DB Bags and I plan on cannibalizing the bags for my bike so I will need a set of bags to replace them with. E-mail me your # and a good time to call. I had Adelphia last year, they dumped me with no warning and wouldn't even foreword my e-mail. Alan '74 Eldorado LAPD MGNOC 4352 Alan R.
