Quick question, getting ready to re-install the oil pan, received the
new gasket in the mail from MG Cycle. Just waiting of the Kawa Bond 5
to dry now - trying to seal up those 2 flange bolts from the engine sump
side of the case rather than pull the engine and seal it up on the
tranny side. Got the suggestion from Gordon, says the 3-Bond stuff is
great (aka Kawa Bond & Yama Bond). Looks like it may work, just was a
pain to apply as it kept running down the case slowly but surely, had to
keep reapplying and moving the stuff up over the bolt holes. This stuff
says it's resistant to oil/fuel, etc.. and is good for up to 350 degrees
- hope it holds, would be a serious bummer if it decided to break loose
and clog something up. Anyways, question is, do I need to apply any
cement or goop to either the pan or engine casting with this oil pan
gasket or just use it as it is without anything?
Thanx.
