Mike,
That makes sense to me. The bike was a police model, brought from Italy by a
GI who bought it there. I have the original policia fairing being shipped to
me (I hope, I better be! :-). Upon scrutinizing the crankcase vent, I thought
it was a jury rigged attempt to vent the motor due to the funky state of the
box vent. I guess I'll never know, but I sure don't like looking at those
rusted hex head bolts on each cover; maybe a chromed spike will fit there!!
