A tritpoli with a spiral sewn buff would be the first step followed by a loose buff with a coloring compound, usually white. Harbor frieght has both, althiugh you don't get much for your money.

Rich, what kind of medium did you use to dress the buffing wheel - rouge? It's been a few decades since my last shop class! Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: Rich Zink <rzi-@co.alameda.ca.us> To: <Loopfram-@topica.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 20, 2002 11:49 AM Subject: RE: CHROME SWING ARM NUTS
I put mine on my buffing wheel about a year ago when I had them
off.
They don't look chrome but they do look as good as polished
stainless and
they still look good a year later. All it cost me was about 15
minutes
labor.
