Hi Vince,
What type of new tensioner are you installing, Guzzi's spring-loaded one or the Valtek? Are you doing a timing chain at the same time? If you need it, I have a "Help Sheet" from Moto International. Guzziology has a few good helpful tips also if you have it. Cheers,
Charlie.

All this time I thought my 73 eldo had timing gears and not a chain. Well today I set out to change the oil and lo and behold lots of little pieces of rubber/plastic in the pan. I remembered from a long ago post that this was due to the chain tensioner coming apart. Well sure enough after taking it all apart that is exactly what I found. Quick call to Harpers and the parts will be in the mail tomorrow. my question to the group: are there any tricks or precautions I need to know about before doing what seems to be a simple job? I've never done this before so any hints would be appreciated. Vince in NY |
