It's a disc brake equipped LAPD version, 29mm VHB carbs, S.N. 62979, same
number on steering head sticker & engine. It has 46k miles, fully Wixomized
including trunk mounted to a luggag rack, OEM dual seat. The mufflers have
stamped on them "Frankfurter"! What's that all about!
Anyhow it sounds mechanically tight, runs real nice, clutch works great,
shifts good, and even stops! The front tire is about worn out & it seems a
bit twitchy up front. The electrical has been a bit molested, but the
important systems function just fine. Unfortunately, it isn't mine. I picked
it up for a friend whom I am meeting at VMD. At least I get to ride it out
to Mid Ohio for delivery.
I don't have much time but I think I'll try to replace the front
tire before I go. Looking for recommendations on size/brand/model tire to
use-looking for stability, not snapy response.
