I wish some one would make a update for the screen filter system using a
cartridge type oil filter. Some one has done them for the 71-83 BSA's &
Triumphs. They had the oil in frame system which had a screen at the
bottom of the down tube where the oil pick up is. I have screen 2 types of
updates for them. One uses a small spin on type automotive filter which
fits into the bottom of the main frame tube and the other which I have,
takes a cartridge type filter found on a sporster. The system works great.

inside the sump theres a cylindrical metal mesh/screen around the oil pump input. Supposed to clean it every once in a while. The one on my ambo was about 25% there, with a shop rag wrapped around it for filtering purposes. |
yep I suppose that does qualify as a large particle filter. When I
dropped
the pan on my ol Loop the first time, I found a leaf in there. about 2
inches long and a half inch wide. Well preserved too. Long ago, I stopped
trying to figure out how it got in there, but I was glad for the screen
anyway.
Truth is stranger than fiction. You cant make this stuff up!
