I am back in the garage today. After much probing with the multimeter
according to Fred's instructions I discovered that my choice of power
supply for the front brake hydraulic switch was the culprit. I had
hooked it up via the power in to the horn relay. I don't know why that
was causing the short but it did.
Now I am getting power from the lower fusebox array that powers the
running light and instrument lights. So far it is working ok and I
should pass inspection today. The only downside I can see is the front
brake light switch only works when the running lights are on. I can
live with that unless someone has a reason to try another way.
I put the new Marzocchi shocks on, replacing the 27 year old stockers.
The difference made me grin. There was so much sag in the old shocks!
I got the 13" ones on the advice of Mr. Field and they look the
business. The rear tire still clears the garage floor when the bike is
on the centerstand.
These excellent shocks and other Moto Guzzi related products are
available from those fine folks at MG Cycle. Feel free to window(s)shop
