I dropped my oil pan last week and cleaned out all the gunk. I also found two things I didn't want to find, aside from the two pan bolts broken by the previous owner. 1. My oil filter screen has a big rip in it. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? Mark??? 2. When taking the screen off I noticed some chrome "chips" in the gunk inside the oil screen. I've heard the tales of flaking chrome, but when should I take it seriously? It was around 10-15 very small flakes. The bike runs very well, so do I have to spend for new cylinders and pistons or can I put it off until I see big flakes and lousy compression? Thanks. -Rich _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger:http://messenger.msn.com Rich, |
are they like grains of sand? I had a bike with flaking chrome but
really don't remember finding much in the screen. Oil consumption and
poor ring seal were my first indications of trouble.
