The older models have a flat bar that goes under the speedo, necessitating notches in the speedo houising....I know, sounds sacriligious....but that is how they are. The ends of the bar have L-shaped peices that bolt to the bar, and the bracket inside the fairing. Looks cheesy, works very well, especially if it is all painted black.
I could probably give you dimensions and details if you can't find more info.

The 1969 Ambassador I just bought came with a Wixom fork mount
fairing. It is not mounted and has no mounts with it.
How are these most commonly mounted. I can see bolts in the lower
triple clamp and it looks like the tops of the fork tubes could hold a
bracket. Any one else have one of these? Care to share how it's
mounted. I want a little feedback before I start fabricating things
