Yeh, the "fin" as I call it is a tab, probablly welded in there for added
strengh. Doesn't really look like it would acually do that, but hey, I'm not
any kind of structural engineer.It's at the upper part of the frame towards
the rear where the U starts for the rr fender/passenger seat.
Once you get home and look at it, it'll be clear.

Thanks for the info, but I'm not sure what you mean by the "fin" on
the frame. Is this a tab welded on the frame? Unfortunately, I am out of
town and can't take a quick look at the bike.
