Wayne, Bear with me. I lived in Chicago for many years. Moved out here to
CT. about 8 years ago. Bought my 1st. Guzzi out here. Now I have 5. On
the border CT. and NY.about 45 mins from where I live is a lady whose late
husband owns 3 Guzzi.. He was a State Police undercover investigator. He
died in a motorcycle accident 4 or 5 years ago. He was riding a 1000S.
This bike has been sold. She has a Cali and a V700. Her late husband
restored this V 700 to the highest level. All stainless nuts and bolts,
Manfred Hectch did the engine [he did the engine work for Dr. Johns Daytona
Guzzi, and many other race bikes] Sadly this bike has been sitting. I want
to buy it but no room. I heard her husband put 5 or 6 K in the restoration.
I have not spoken to her since the spring but I heard the bike is still for
sale. Any Interest? Let me know. All the best, Joe O.

Folks

I thought I would put this out and see if anybody might be interested.

I own a 1973 european model of the V7 sport. This bike has a clear title,
runs well, is 99% complete and is in good condition except that paint is
not
original and has been partially removed in preparation for paint.

Adverse conditions

1. Seat- pan and foam are original and cover is in good condition. Cover
is
 not original.

2. Rear tail light assembly- Bike is currently fitted with a BMW airhead
type rear tail light. No damage or alterations were done to the original
tail light mounting bracket.

3. Ignition switch- Not original. I did install the alternate that was
recommended by harpers.

4. Exhaust system- Original exhaust pipes and mufflers are on bike but
have
been painted black by some previous owner. Crossover pipe is also there.

5. Valve covers, cylinders, heads and generator cover have been painted
black. I have experimented in removing this paint and believe it can be
done
 without too much headache.

This is a european model with speedo marked in kilometers. shift is on
right
side and is 1 up and 4 down. Swan neck handlebars are forged type rather
than stamped ( I have been told that the forged bars are more desireable
than the stamped)

Mechanically the bike is 100%. It runs strong and smooth through all
gears.
 No leaks.

In summary, this a bike needing paint, a tail light, seat, possibly a new
exhaust system if old can not be chromed, and it is ready for the show.
(New
 decals will be included)

I am looking for a nice, original v7 ( or possibly other pre 70 loop)and
cash.

I once owned a 66 v7 and foolishly traded it away. Now I sorely miss the
bike and would love to have another.

Sorry, I do not own a digital camera and do not have a scanner.

I thought I would run this by the list before I go elsewhere.

let me know if you are interested.

I am in no hurry.
