John,
I put a police dash on my Eldo recently with no trouble. There were 2
mods, however. The first was to drill the area below the speedo for an
aftermarket ignition switch I got from Moto International. The second
mod was to cut notches in the left-hand and right-hand sides so that I
could fit the brackets for a National Cycle police-style windshield. The
notches were (the brackets are secured by the large fork-top hex bolts)
about 1 1/2 inches wide by about 3/16 deep.

I am considering the thought of switching my dual instrument cluster with a single cluster. My tachometer hasn't operated in the last 120,000 + miles and I really don't think that I need it. Besides, I prefer the look of the single speedometer and I want to change the ignition switch for use of a 'real' key. I realize that origionality is prefered but mine ain't been origional since way before I got it in several hundred pieces. Are any modifications necessary to make the switch other than the ignition relocation?
