I am in the middle of restoring my 70' Ambo. I think I am going to make
some subtle changes from the stock configuration. I use my 73'
Police model for cruising and plan on keeping it pretty much original.
The 70' Ambo however, I'm thinking about making more of an around town
hotrod. I plan on using loud exhaust, custom paint (leaving chrome
showing on tank)etc.etc.. I have a few questions. I was looking at the
seat and it looks to me that I could modify the seat into a slender
version solo seat. The other modification I wanted to do was
to somehow replace the back tire rim configuration. I want to install
a smaller diameter "FAT" tire. I realize there are limits to the size
because of the driveshaft. I am willing to do frame mods, cutting,
welding and even machining a rear hub spacer. I wanted to know if anyone
has ever done any radical mods to any Guzzi to allow for the bigger
tire. I even have a preliminary design for offsetting the
trans output shaft.
