Hi Dennis,

I was wondering....do you get much popping on the bike when you run at high rpm or on a decel? What's your fuel mileage?
No Ian, I don't. The bike accelerates smoothly both up and down the rpm scale. I haven't checked fuel mileage for a long time, but I know I am getting over 200 miles per tankfull.

I have been noticing that my bike's plug run a little whittish but have never thought much about it since the bike seems to run ok. I guess I should be concerned about burning the valves?

Not to repeat myself, but I typically spend a lot of riding time on the Eldo in the 35-55mph range, running up and down the gears due to slowing for twisties and accelerating out of them, and running in and out of small rural towns. However, the bike spent the better part of 3 hours running at 65 and up actual (80+ indicated), and that's when I noticed the whiteness of the plugs.

I guess the thing to do is to lower (raise) the needle a notch and observe the performance. By the way...your bike is stock right?

Yes, that was my first inclination. I was just curious from folks more expert than me as to whether moving the needle was the right thing to do to enrich when running 4,500rmp & up or whether it wouldn't have any effect at those rpm's and the mains should be changed to larger.
Yes, my motor is stock. Tired, and stock.
Dennis

Subject: plug check

I have a concern over a plug reading I took after the Maryland Rally. Most of my riding time on my Eldo is spent riding country roads at a brisk but leisurely pace, on and off the throttle thru turns, slowing thru small towns, etc. Kind of like our loop loop at the Md Rally. The only sensible way from my house to the Maryland Rally, however, is highway riding. I spent the larger part of my ride to and from the Maryland Rally consistently at 65-80mph. I did a plug check the following day after arriving home, and found the plugs to be more white than is healthy. Usually, I find them a more tan to chocolate color. Here's the question(s):
1. Should I be concerned about this condition, since I don't spend the major portion of my riding time at these consistent speeds?
2. If I wanted to make an adjustment, would it be to the needle, or main, what?
Thanks,
Dennis Jones
