Got a surprise call from the mechanic tonight, they stayed late and got
the spring in place and it shifts through all 4 gears now. Now has to
reassemble everything, thinks it may be road worthy this weekend, we'll
see.

Keith,
I hope you don't sell the bike. Bob Hawkes was ready to sell his bike
too
but ask him now what he thinks of the thing now that it is running well.
Hang in there. You will not regret it....Ian

these dayHey Ian,
I missed a bunch of rides/rallies the past 2 years! Don't need the
tranny fixed, it already is. Just the return spring needs to be
installed correctly - this can be done externally through the back
plate. If it doesn't work and the tranny has to come back out, I may
either bring it back to the Guzzi shop and tell them to fix it right
this time or just sell it as is. Hopefully it won't come down to that
though.
