Another set of questions for the list luminaries...
1) Are the V700s equipped with a different set of camshaft drive,
crankshaft, and oil pump gears having a finer pitch than those used on early
Eldorados? I recently read this in Guzziology & I would like to verify it.
2) How many teeth are on the cam gear? The V7 Sport parts book (I believe
the same gears used in the early Eldo) has listed 52 teeth.
3) Will they fit on a later model motor, i.e., are the outside diameters the
same and will they fit on later gear driven cams, cranks, and oil pumps?
The reason I ask is because I've been doing more research into the camshaft
timing on my Sport. Given 52 teeth and 5 equally spaced dowel holes, the cam
timing can be adjusted in 2.77 crankshaft degree steps. A finer pitch gear
set would possibly allow smaller steps.
Any help appreciate-Thanks!
