Scott,
Same thing happened to me just after I got my Eldo. No one would sell
me just the threaded handle - just the whole petcock. So I found a long
5 mm SS bolt with the same pitch as the original (measured from the
remaining handle). The bolt had a long shank with no threads on it and
I was able to cut out a new handle from that section including a small
section of threads. Rounded the end a bit to make it look more
original, a quick polish job, put some LocTite on the threads, and have
been using it ever since. Hard to tell from the original chrome unit -
unless you have them side by side.
I think that I still have couple left and I could send you one if you'd like.
re: petcock gaskets. Has anyone (namely you, Rich) used those gaskets
I sent you? Anything to report?
