Sorry I didn't catch this comment before. I ran my Eldo for years with no
velocity stacks and the K&N filters right on the carb throat. My performance
was exactly as he has described. Eventually I got velocity stacks and cut
the lips off in a lathe so they fit inside the mouth of the K&N filters. Big
differance. Not only willing to crank to redline, but got about 10% better
fuel mileage doing it. Laminar air flow in a carb is a big deal.
