yeah, i know. the gates belt is still in perfect condition- i just had
replaced it because of it's age. the napa belt just started disintegrating-
hate to say it, but i've had similar problems on the tractor with their
belts. so, i guess staying with "genuine" gates products is the way to go!
btw, how does cedar handle with that honkin' front tire?

Sounds kinda strange that a new belt would go on you like that, unless
something is mis-aligned. I've been running a similar Gates automotive
type belt on mine and it seems to be doing fine. I did unintentionally
grind a bit of rubber off the belt initially because the generator was
not squarely in the bracket. Usually the first clue of a problem is a
lot of rubber dust under the front cover.
