Use the lo octne stuff and add racing gas to it to get the desired octane.
Of course if you have no pinging or knocking, then the lo octane is fine.
I'd stay away from the gasohol or any octane boosters sold in chain
stores...I'm sure someone makes one that works, but I haven't found it yet.

I vaguely remember that the ethanol can be detrimental to engines so I used the 89 proof stuff Any experiences or strong opinions on the subject??
